Robert Barbiero to speak on U of T faculty of dentistry lecture series "Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery After Training: The Challenges"
On May 28, 2020, Robert Barbiero, of our Health Law Group, will be giving a talk to U of T faculty of dentistry oral and maxillofacial surgery residents concerning complaints filed with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.
Every oral and maxillofacial surgeon is faced with challenging situations and difficult patients. These encounters could result in a complaint being filed with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (the “RCDSO”). These complaints are a reality for numerous practitioners and even one (1) such complaint can have a serious as well as a lasting impact on an oral surgeon’s career. It is imperative that every practitioner learn as much as possible about how the RCDSO’s complaint process works.
Robert Barbiero will explain what every practitioner needs to know about how the RCDSO investigates complaints and the types of decisions it can render as well as each practitioner’s rights during this process.
