Daniel Melamed participates in roundtable discussion with Attorney General David Lametti
On March 26, 2019 Daniel Melamed of our Family Law Group participated in a roundtable discussion with Attorney General David Lametti to discuss family law matters under the jurisdiction of the Federal government. In particular, Daniel emphasized the importance of the completion of Unified Family Court throughout Ontario and Service issues under the Hague Convention for Service in Civil Proceedings.
Daniel also raised the importance of funding for Alternative Dispute Resolution for low income families in light of the proposed amendments to the Divorce Act enhancing the requirement of both the Court and counsel to consider mediation to resolve disputes.
