Lisa Lifshitz speaks to the Globe & Mail on cyberattack losses and the growing area of cyberliability insurance

In a recent interview with the Globe & Mail, Torkin Manes lawyer Lisa Lifshitz comments on the recent trend of cyberliability insurance amongst small and medium-sized businesses as a protective measure from cyberattacks.

“It has been estimated that criminals launch 3.5 new digital threats against SMBs every second.” However, she says it’s “buyer beware” and adds that “every insurance company deals with coverage differently. There are always going to be carve-outs” for situations that insurers won’t cover.”
