Loretta Merritt honoured with the OTLA John A. McLeish Award

Share:

Congratulations to Loretta Merritt who was awarded the John A. McLeish Award by the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA).

The John A. McLeish Award honours a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the goals of a fair trial and access to justice, as an advocate, in legal scholarship, continuing legal education, legal writing, journalism, politics or government. Since its inception almost 20 years ago, only 7 other people have been awarded the Honour of the John A. McLeish Award.

Loretta is one of the few lawyers in Ontario who has substantial experience in dealing with abuse and harassment in civil lawsuits and employment cases. She understands and cares about abuse survivors, recognizing that coming forward, being heard and acknowledged, as well as gaining a sense of justice and closure, are what matter to her clients. She has obtained settlements for hundreds of clients and has received recognition and awards including Best Lawyers in Canada and the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal, in recognition of her contributions to Canada and work in representing abuse survivors.

We congratulate Loretta Merritt for achieving this prominent recognition!
