Torkin Manes Remembers and Honours International Holocaust Remembrance Day

"It is our shared responsibility to protect the truth, and to keep alive the memory of all those who suffered under the Nazi regime; to support research and documentation that can confront the fantasies of fanatics with the reality of history; and to study and teach the Holocaust, so that education may prevent
anti-Semitism and all forms of racism.

—  Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, on the occasion of  International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust

Every year on January 27, communities around the world take time to remember one of the most memorable and significant days in history: the anniversary of the 1945 liberation of the Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

The United Nations has designated January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a day the world can honour the memory of the six million Jewish persons—as well as innumerable other minorities—who were murdered in or survived the Holocaust.

Today, we encourage everyone to join us in reaffirming our commitment to “Never Again, Never Forget”.
