As a partner in Torkin Manes’ Family Law Group, Adam leverages his creative and efficient resolution capabilities to skillfully guide and counsel clients in matters involving divorce, parenting, property, support, and domestic contracts, with particular emphasis on resolving complex financial issues often involving high net worth and international clients.
Adam is a passionate and an accomplished advocate, and has acted on behalf of clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings, as well as before the courts at both trial and appellate levels. As an extension of his practice, in 2020, he was appointed a Dispute Resolution Officer of the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, and is a trained Mediator.
A sought-after speaker and author, Adam has shared his knowledge about current family law issues through his monthly column in the National Post, as well as in feature articles in other prominent legal publications, including the Lawyers Weekly and Law Times. He authored a chapter in the book, “Support Rights and Obligations Under Ontario Family Law”, published by Thomson Reuters, and has discussed family law issues on various radio programs across Canada. As an active contributor to the legal community, Adam is frequently called upon to present at continuing legal education seminars on family law.
Throughout his practice, Adam has received numerous accolades as a leading lawyer in Canada. Since 2019, Adam has been recognized by the Best Lawyers in Canada, a preeminent peer review legal publication. He has also been named a Featured Expert on Lexology, a comprehensive, international resource for lawyers, and was named a Lexology Legal Influencer, an award that recognizes thought leaders in the profession.
To complement his law practice, Adam has devoted many hours to the broader legal community. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the Osgoode Certificate in Family Law Skills and Practice, and was an instrumental contributor to the program’s concept, design and execution. Since its inception, he has acted as an instructor for the program, which is currently in its third year.
