Adam is a partner in Torkin Manes’ Family Law Group. He is a strategic thinker and problem solver, and represents clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, parenting, property, support and domestic contracts. Adam’s practice often involves high net worth clients with complex financial and jurisdictional issues.

Adam is a passionate and an accomplished advocate and acts on behalf of clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings, as well as before the courts at both trial and appellate levels. As an extension of his practice, in 2020, he was appointed a Dispute Resolution Officer of the Superior Court of Justice in Toronto and is a trained Mediator.

A sought-after speaker and author, Adam has shared his knowledge about current family law issues through his column in the National Post, as well as in feature articles in other prominent legal publications, including the Lawyers Weekly and Law Times. He was named a Featured Expert on Lexology, a comprehensive, international resource for lawyers, as well as a Lexology Legal Influencer, an award that recognizes thought leaders in the profession. He authored a chapter in the book, “Support Rights and Obligations Under Ontario Family Law”, published by Thomson Reuters, and has discussed family law issues on various radio programs across Canada. As an active contributor to the legal community, Adam is frequently called upon to present at continuing legal education seminars on family law. 

Throughout his practice, Adam has received numerous accolades as a leading lawyer in Canada. Since 2019, Adam has been repeatedly recognized by his peers as a leader in family law in some of the most respected directories in the legal profession, including Best Lawyers in Canada and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.

To complement his law practice, Adam has devoted many hours to the broader legal community. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the Osgoode Certificate in Family Law Skills and Practice, and was an instrumental contributor to the program’s concept, design and execution. Since its inception, he has acted as an instructor for the program, which is currently in its fourth year. Aligned with his commitment to the profession, Adam was an Adjunct Professor at Queen’s University, Faculty of Law where he taught the family law course.
