Barry is a partner in our Banking and Insolvency groups. He provides counsel to banks, leasing companies, factoring companies, asset-based lenders and other lenders in commercial loan transactions secured by real estate, debentures, security instruments, Bank Act Security and personal property.

Barry works with banks and other secured lenders on insolvency and workout matters and restructuring loan transactions. He has expertise in all aspects of lending, including automotive related lending and restructuring, pharmaceutical and real estate development matters. Barry also acts for borrowers to assist in reorganizations with a view to their restructuring and negotiating business arrangements necessary for their continuing in business. His practice also includes distribution agreements and advising licensors/licensees in all aspects of licensing matters.

Barry has appeared on several television segments of Canada AM, speaking on insolvency and financial matters, and he also regularly lectures to banks and other lenders about various lending and enforcement issues. Barry regularly speaks to professional groups on a variety of subjects, including dealing with banks, succession planning for new management, and signs of trouble with your borrower - before they tell you.
