Howard Burshtein devotes most of his professional time to transactional work, with a great deal of focus on trans-border undertakings. He has appeared before numerous tribunals including the Ontario Securities Commission, the British Columbia Securities Commission and the Mining Commissioner of Ontario.
During his career, Howard has lectured in Securities Law at the Bar Admission Course of Upper Canada and has also taught Bar Admission students numerous courses, including "Professional Responsibility and Legal Writing." He has also been a sessional lecturer at Ryerson University, teaching various courses on business law. He also contributes articles for a number of periodicals including the Money Saver newsletter and various corporate journals.
Howard generously donates time to various community initiatives and charities, including the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada where he has filled various roles and responsibilities respecting the MS Society's Super-Cities Walks, which raises millions of dollars annually.
Howard graduated from McGill University in 1979 with a BComm. (Finance) where he was the Faculty of Management Yearbook Editor. In 1981, he obtained his MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Toronto. Howard received his LLB from the University of Windsor in 1984 and was called to the Ontario Bar 1986.
